Astemo's Muncie, Indiana Plant Expansion Meets Honda's New Ownership Stake
Astemo's Muncie, Indiana plant expansion adds $11.77M in new capacity as Honda takes a 61% stake, plus what Kosciusko's orthopedic showcase means for suppliers.
Astemo's Muncie, Indiana plant expansion puts $11.77 million behind a plant that has to beat its own sister sites for new business, not just outside rivals. Down in Kosciusko County, a dozen orthopedic contract manufacturers are about to share a stage with a newly merged competitor that walked in with more scale than any of them had going into 2026.

Astemo's Muncie, Indiana Plant Expansion Lands as Honda Takes Control
Astemo Indiana and the Economic Development Alliance of Muncie-Delaware County announced an $11,773,095 expansion of the Muncie plant at 4400 N. Superior Drive on November 2. The project adds capacity for up to five injection mold machines, a new assembly line for the AP3 HEV intake manifold, and a V6 intake manifold line moving over from Astemo's Greenfield, Indiana plant.
- For the huddle
- If a sister plant's product line can get reassigned across state lines as an OEM parent consolidates ownership (the way Greenfield's V6 line just moved to Muncie under incoming Honda control) do we know how exposed our own multi-plant supplier relationships are to the same kind of internal reshuffling?
